No account needed
Each app is complete on its own. Your notes live on your Mac or iPhone, and without an account nothing you write ever leaves it.
An account for sync
To have the same notes on your Mac and iPhone, turn on sync on both and sign in with Apple or your email. The notes already on each one come along.
No tracking
Cue doesn’t know how you use it: nothing in either app reports back. Your notes are only ever used to sync them between your devices, and nothing about you is sold.
Free, and staying that way
There’s no paid tier to graduate to, and sync isn’t the part I’m saving up to charge for later. I built Cue for myself and put it out for free; that’s the whole plan.
Assistants, if you want one
With sync on, Claude or ChatGPT can read and edit your days over MCP. Nothing it does can delete a thing, and there’s no AI inside the app itself.
Yours to take, or delete
Export everything from the Mac, as Markdown or JSON, any time. Turning sync off keeps every note on your Mac or iPhone, and deleting your account in Settings deletes it from the server.
Cue is open source, so you can read exactly what it does, build it yourself or run your own sync server. It’s all on GitHub.
